A friend of mine loves the steampunk style and everything related to it. The lack of steampunk-ish stuff in the market pushed me to modify an usb flash drive into this SteamKey, essentially the same drive, but a lot cooler. It has been a very appreciated present. At least it seemed so =).
Un mio amico ama lo stile steampunk e tutto ciò che è connesso ad esso. La mancanza di oggetti in stile steampunk sul mercato, mi ha spinto a modificare una pennetta usb in questa SteamKey, praticamente la stessa pennetta ma molto più fica. E’ stato un regalo molto apprezzato. Almeno così è sembrato =).

I don’t have a full worklog of this, ‘cause the “project” started even before I had a blog. Anyway I have a full photo set of the finished work. The SteamKey is folded into a structure that protects it from the external dangers:
Non ho un worklog di questo progetto, in quanto è iniziato prima ancora che avessi un blog. Ad ogni modo ho un set fotografico completo del lavoro finito. La SteamKey si trova all’interno di una struttura che la protegge dell’esterno:
Once unfolded it is a quite normal usb flash drive. The black lever on the back side can rotate and it produces a clear sequence of “click” as if you were loading a spring. A little touch of class.
Una volta estratta è praticamente una normale penna usb. La leva nera sul retro ruota e produce dei ticchettii come se si stesse caricando una molla. Un piccolo tocco di classe.
Just because a good picture is nothing without a good frame, I created a nice wood box with red velvet to fit the present. The greeting card is made from an absolutely normal paper aged with coffee (yes, it smells a bit, but the effect is astounding).
Dal momento che un buon quadro non è niente senza una bella cornice o creato una bella scatolina di legno in cui adagiare il regalo su un morbido velluto rosso. Il biglietto di auguri è realizzato con della carta assolutamente normale, invecchiata con il caffé (è vero, puzza un po’, ma l’effetto è strepitoso).
